Temperatures have dropped in Hong Kong again, not enough to call it winter, but enough to bring the sweaters back out again.  Winter is not my favorite season, I am a sun child at heart, but I cannot deny that winter can be beautiful.  I experienced my first Austrian winter when I was 13 and I remember walking in the forest, and hearing for the first time the sound of silence.  Looking at the pictures below I am suddenly homesick for Austria, for the snow and the mountains.  The pictures from Mikko Lagerstedt show the melancholic beauty of winter, and the absolute stillness that you can only find in a wintry, snowy place.
