Photography: Bikes of Burden

Photography: Bikes of Burden
In 2005 I went backpacking through Vietnam.  It was a trip of many firsts.  My first trip to Asia, my first trip backpacking, my first time travelling without high-heels.  One of the more memorable things I saw while in Vietnam was motorcycles carrying the most incredible amount of stuff.  It boggled the mind really, how the Vietnamese converted a two wheel vehicle into these moving structures, loaded up with more stuff then would fit into a VW van.  I saw the Hans Kemp's book called Bikes of Burden way back then in a cool coffee shop in Hanoi, but alas every kilo counts while backpacking.  Today I came across these pictured online, and I had a flashback of my days in Vietnam.  I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I do.  My personal favourite has got to be the dude carrying bags of live fish.
